Since the leaves were starting to turn in Elkins, I had assumed that the leaves in higher elevation places, like Tucker County, must be reaching their peak……I was so wrong! The leaves at Table Rock had barely started to change.
The trailhead seemed as green as ever, despite the temperatures being in the lower 50’s. This was pretty much the peak of any color that we saw. While we were kind of sad that we didn’t get to see the fall colors from Table Rock, the view is still breathtaking.
I guess that sort of counts…though I think it was from the recent lack of rain. Ha! Oh, well- it was still definitely worth the hike. And we met this guy….
Turns out he likes blueberry branches. Who knew. At any rate, we basked in the sun for a while before heading back to the car and going to grab some grub at Hellbender Burritos in Davis. Of course, I couldn’t leave without taking my photo on the edge, as per tradition…
